Blind Date, a UK internet dating website, is reaching 1 million users, with the site becoming the UK’s most popular dating site.
The BBC reports the site has been downloaded more than 3.5 million times since it launched in March.
The website allows users to find people they want to date, and to meet up with them in real-time.
Users can also upload photos and videos of themselves and can choose to have a “private date”.
The BBC says it reached 1.4 million users worldwide in the last 12 months.
“In a week we have seen over 3 million new users join our network, and this week we are now on track to reach 1.5m,” says a spokesperson for Blind Date.
“As a result, we have been able to reach over 5.5million potential users and we are proud to be the UKs most popular online dating site.”
The website has had success attracting younger users.
The spokesperson says “the younger generation are now our biggest customers”.
Blind Date says the site is aiming to reach 50 million users by the end of 2018.
The company says it will continue to expand its network, adding more dates, events and services in the future.
It says the launch of its website was a natural next step in the journey towards reaching 1.6 billion users by 2020.
